A Business Opportunity for Young Professionals

Exchange visitors gain practical experience, knowledge, linguistic competency, and cross-cultural skills critical to leadership in today's international business community. FACC members have the opportunity to add bright young professionals to their business operations and to strengthen their connections to overseas markets. All procedures will be easier with the FACC.

What is the J1-Visa Program?

A foreign candidate with the offer of an internship or training program from an eligible company in the United States may apply for J-1 visa at the American Embassy in Paris. The J-1 visa allows participants in our program to come to the United States for up to 12 months as Interns or for up to 18 months as Trainees for full-time exchange programs at eligible FACC member companies.

How to Proceed

The French-American Chamber of Commerce, Minneapolis / St. Paul works in partnership with the French-American Chamber of Commerce (New York Chapter) to assist you in all your J1-Visa needs.

The French-American Chamber of Commerce (New York Chapter) is a designated U.S. State Department sponsor of the Exchange Visitor Program.  The Exchange Visitor Program was established by the Mutual Educational and Cultural Exchange Act of 1961 as described in the Federal Regulations at 22 CFR Part 62.

The FACC is authorized by the State Department to sponsor eligible Interns and Trainees on a J-1 visa by issuing the Certificate of Eligibility, Form DS-2019. With this document, a foreign candidate with the offer of an internship or training program from an eligible company in the United States may apply for J-1 visa at the American Embassy in Paris.

The J-1 visa allows participants in our program to come to the United States for up to 12 months as Interns or for up to 18 months as Trainees for full-time, paid exchange programs at eligible FACC member companies.

Prior to submitting an application, please read the J-1 Visa Requirements and contact us via email for other program information, rules and criteria not listed here. To verify your company's eligibility to host intern/trainees, please complete the Host Company Eligibility Checklist and send it to icdp(at)faccnyc.org.

Please note : FACC staff is available for further information on the J-1 visa. Staff is also pleased to meet with potential J-1 candidates, if needed, but on an appointment basis only. For any specific questions, or to set up an appointment, please email icdp(at)faccnyc.org.
