On Thursday, October 2, 2014, French Consul General Vincent Floreani appointed new Honorary Consul for France in Minnesota, Christina Selander Bouzouina and confer French citizenship.
What is an honorary consul? An honorary French consul is a volunteer who serves as a liaison between French nationals in Minnesota and the French government; the consul also facilitates visits by French officials to Minnesota. The position requires the approval of the French Minister of Foreign Affairs and the U.S. State Department.
Christina Selander Bouzouina is the executive director of the Alliance Française of Minneapolis/St. Paul. The Minnesota-born Bouzouina is fluent in French, and has worked closely with the outgoing Honorary Consul of France for Minnesota, Alain Frecon.
